Over the next five weeks, my training group and I will be in Flagstaff, AZ. I will be preparing for the 1500m at the Prefontaine Classic and the 10k at the US National Outdoor championships.
My recent performance at Carson, was not what I hoped for, but I realize that in order to move toward my long term goals, sacrifices have to be made. I have faith in myself, coach, and training.
Dream Big,

We are behind you 100%, keep up the hard work!
I'm with Michael! You will rock both the 1500 and the 10K :) I can't wait to watch.
I can't wait to watch you at the Pre Classic! I will probably be volunteering for that, so I'll get to watch it up close!
You are amazing, Shalane! No matter what you do we will be proud of you!
You just didn't look like your normal self out there. Not the confident and strong stride that we are used to seeing. You are right though, you have had such a long streak of great racing and I am glad that you won't define yourself by one race, good or bad, too many big ambitions and future plans for such worries.
Keep looking forward and I am excited to be there to watch your 1500 at the Pre on Sunday. Forcast says a gap in the rainy weather for some sunshine on Sunday... but with Oregon you never know right? :)
Shalane,
I am a long time fan and, more recently a friend of your mom's. I need your help...
Your mom and I have exchanged email etc for about a year... then we met at the SEC (Gainesville, May 15-17) and got acquainted. BTW, She's an incredible person! Following that, I have heard from her on two occasions, then suddenly, nothing. I have seen nothing posted on PrettySporty since May 30. And, much to my shagrin she has not answered any of my messages since that date. I hope I do not upset you by coming to you for help. I just need to know she's alright. That's all! Except I think that you too are totally awesome! Best of Luck! And, Thank You!
